If You Read My Mind...

I'll Pop One more in the Trunk for ya.. Cos Who Knows how long it will be till I post again Hopefully not too long! This next jam is another Piece of Serious Pressure. Its By Columbus Circle and is called "If You Read My Mind" which was released again in 1982 on 12" on ELEKTRA Records. I first heard this Joint on a Maurice Fulton Mix. This Tune has some Crazy Synth action on it along with slinky guitar and Booming bass. I love the break around the 5 Minute mark and the Layering on this track.. Just feel good Dancefloor Boogie. The Vocals are also Rockin and its a Great Late Night Jam at 8 and half Minutes. This track is all about the Synth Lines.. I hope you can get the Roller-skates on and Jam On it! Salute!

Let's Dance (The Passage)

Hello all, Haven't blogged for what seems a long time, so I thought i'd show some love! Been diggin around various spots on the Web and around Melbourne still on the Pressure vibe and found this Amazing joint From "The Evasions" Called "Let's Dance (The Passage). Gotta give Credit to my man El Parisino For Spotting this one For me! This Joint is the B-side to Jocks Rap (The Passage) which was a spooof of Grandmaster Flash's The Message. When I go to New York Im going to try and Hunt this Classic down on 12". Let's Dance Was released in 1982 on 12" on GROOVE PRODUCTION RECORDS. This jam is kinda like a sped Up version of "The Message" added with an Awesome Vocal Hook. Took me a while to find this track I only ever though The Evasions did "Wikka Wrap". This tune is Very much the style I dig for that Tough "Boom-Box" Boogie. I hope you all ride out to this one is an absolute Classic peice of Pressure! Peace!

Groovin' (On A Love Song)...

A Beer has been popped, Going to keep Posting up Pressure Joints! Next one is by a Duo Called Bliss and the jam is called "Groovin' (On A Love Song)" and was released on 12" in 1982 on CITY VIEW RECORDS. This is another group that only had one jam but I guess they will never have the worry of selling out! This jam is very well Produced, again with very tight horns Bouncing piano lines, guitar tweeks and solid Vocals. Toward the end of the song it just jams out heavy! Def my Favorite part. This is such a feel good Joint Always puts me right in the mood! and can get a floor movin! Peace to tha' Pressure!

I Can't Wait To Break...

Next is more on the funk tip but still a total Jam! Its a tune by the name of "I Can't Wait To Break" By one Billy Jones which was released on 12" in 1984 on NIA records. Now if your not familiar with Billy Jones he was the guitarist for the amazing Heatwave in the early years. This tune actually reminds me of a Leroy Burgess Style Jam, I guess because of the timings and groove and drum patterns and the fact it was Produced by the Aleem Brothers! Gold!. Anyway, This is another Great jam that will get you movin! Hope you can get up on this! Salute!

Space Lady...

Here's a stone cold Rare Boogie Gem, If you have this Record I salute you! its damn hard to find! Its By Bill and is called "Space Lady" which was the b-side to the 12" "I Feel Good With You" which was Released in 1983 on DOLLAR BILL RECORDS. This was the only thing released by Bill making it Damn hard to track down. This track has insane Deep bass on it just bubbling along throughout the groove, classic hi-hats silky Keys & guitar also in the mix. You will be humming the chorus for days! Its a total jam! Enjoy it!

Looking Good...

Here's another Rare Boogie Gem. Amazing how there was so much music around this time in the genre yet each has such an individual Sound. This one is a Bit of a Proto House Burner From Benton Baptist. The tune is called "Looking Good" and was Released on 12" in 1982 on KALICO RECORDS. This was the only tune he released and its quite a jam!. This tune has that HI-NRG Electro Vibe happenin one that would definitely get a floors Rump shakin'. I love this sound alot of layers all in the right place then drop a vocal on top just to finish it off. Hope you all can boogie to this Rare Joint. Peace!

Rockin' Back To Back...

Here is another one of My favorite Boogie/ Electro Jams Just pure HEAT. Its by one Barry Boulevard and is called "Rockin' Back to Back" which was Released in 1984 on 12" on WEST SIDE RECORDS. Now this jam is a pretty hard Joint to find on vinyl if you got it Hold on to it! its a total CLASSIC. This tune again has a crazy ass bassline just pounding through the Track.. Barry's vocals remind me a little of One Dam-Funk. Barry Rocks a Rap toward the end of the jam which is pretty tight. Check this one out.. Crazy Pressure on this! Ride out!

Never Had A Love Like This Before...

Here's some Classic 2 Step for all the lovers out there as we near Valentines day. It's another Slept on Barbara Mitchell Jam called "Never Had A Love Like This Before" which was again off her 1986 LP "High On Love" which I touched on earlier. This is another Down-tempo Boogie treat for your ears. Heavy on the electro tip with a Solid Bassline throughout keepin it rollin for all the headz out there. Just another stone cold tough Groove! Hope all the Lovers out there get up on this one.. Classic!

Get Me Through The Night...

O.k I'm keep going on this Barbara Mitchell thing.. just because she had some serious Pressure Jams. Next one is called "Get Me through the Night" which was released on her RARE 1984 record of the same name on CAPITOL records. this is one of my all time favorite Jams and you'll see why after listening to it. It start of with one of the Toughest Pressure basslines Ive heard in a track. you can't help but get your boom box out and fila tracksuit and head down to the park for some frisby action. Solid chorus great production Layering check it out. You will not be Disappointed! PRESSURE!
